Anker was started in 2011 by a former Google engineer who thought replacement laptop batteries were bad, and built a company on the premise that the accessory should be better than the one in the box.

It now spans charging, cables and power stations, plus Soundcore audio, eufy home security and Nebula projectors. Its GaN chargers run smaller and cooler than older designs, which is how one palm-sized brick charges a laptop and two phones at once.
