Apple

Apple began in a garage in 1976 and is now the most valuable company in the world. It designs the hardware, the operating system and the silicon inside its products together — which is why an iPhone, a Mac and a Watch behave as one set of things rather than three.

Beyond the devices it is a services business at enormous scale: the App Store, iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Pay. It also takes an unusually public line on privacy, and on running its operations from renewable energy.
