Twitch started in 2011 as a spin-off of a site where a man streamed his own life, and became the place the world watches other people play. Amazon bought it in 2014.
It is where a following gets built, and where a great deal of gaming culture now happens first — not only games, but music, cooking, art and people simply talking.
