Ubiquiti

Ubiquiti was founded in 2005 by a former Apple engineer, and took an odd route to becoming a large company: almost no sales force, almost no advertising, and a following of network engineers who recommended it to each other.

It builds carrier and enterprise-grade networking — the class of equipment an internet provider installs — and sells it directly to the people who will run it. Its UniFi line covers gateways, switching, Wi-Fi, cameras, door access, phone systems and point-of-sale, all managed from one application with no licence fee.
